The philosophy of Metabrawl's levels is to make the player feel like they are playing in different parts of the Metabrawl world and to convey the existence of this world. The idea is for the player to select the level in which they want to face their opponent. When playing the open-world game mode, it is set in the Magic Forest.
The structure of the levels is to progress linearly after defeating each character. Upon defeating all the characters, the protagonist faces Akira, who is considered the final boss, and upon defeating him, the game ends. This structure allows us to establish a beginning and an end in the story of this installment of Metabrawl and to focus on improving the gameplay quality of this structure. To play this game mode, the story mode, open-world story, or brawl story mode must be implemented, where you can defeat the original roster characters one by one in the following order: Volt Inu, Shiba Inu, Shiba Warrior, and Akira as the final boss.
This arena promises to give the player the feeling of fighting inside a temple. The torches and lighting effects create a more intense atmosphere. This map was included to provide an indoor battle scenario. We were inspired by the character Shiba Warrior for this arena and plan to make it his official arena in the future.
We placed Wolverinu and Metabrawl flags at the top of the wall structure, hanging them from the wooden beams there. In this arena, players in story mode face Shiba Warrior before continuing to fight the final boss. The concept of the dojo is to emphasize that Metabrawl is a fighting tournament aimed at an audience that enjoys detailed scenarios, enhancing their experience of learning to fight.
Located in the valleys of Metabrawl, the Magic Forest is a map that features a light filter to make it look more magical. This outdoor map is filled with trees and branches. Characters may find themselves getting slightly lost in the fog, making them harder to see. The map also includes puddles where characters will sink a bit, adding a more realistic effect.
This could be considered the main level of Metabrawl since it is here that the Inus are first seen united to fight in this video game. The Lava Bridge features visual elements such as smoke and embers, or glowing fireballs rising from the lava below the bridge. The bridge is set within the ruins of a castle, which can be seen sinking into the lava.
