Software
A collection of instructions, data, or programs used to operate computers and execute specific tasks. It includes applications, operating systems, and utilities.
Videogame
An electronic game played on a device such as a console, computer, or mobile phone, involving interaction with a user interface to generate visual feedback on a screen.
Nintendo 3DS
A handheld gaming console developed by Nintendo, featuring autostereoscopic 3D display technology without the need for 3D glasses. It was released in 2011.
Smash Bros
A popular fighting game series developed by Nintendo, officially titled Super Smash Bros. It features characters from various Nintendo franchises and other third-party games battling in a platform-based environment.
Meta
Short for "metagame," it refers to the evolving strategies, trends, and tactics that players use to gain an advantage in a game. It can also refer to the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms.
Brawl
Refers to Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the third installment in the Super Smash Bros. series, released for the Nintendo Wii in 2008.
Platform Fighter
A subgenre of fighting games where characters battle on a platform-based stage, often with the ability to knock opponents off the stage to win. Super Smash Bros. is the most well-known example.
Personal Computer (PC)
A general-purpose computer designed for individual use, capable of running a wide variety of software, including games, productivity tools, and more.
Game Genre
A category of games characterized by similar gameplay mechanics, themes, or styles. Examples include action, adventure, role-playing, and platform fighters.
Token
In gaming, a token can represent an in-game item, currency, or access key. In blockchain and cryptocurrency, a token is a digital asset built on an existing blockchain, often used for specific purposes within a platform.
Cryptocurrency
A digital or virtual currency that uses cryptography for security and operates on decentralized networks based on blockchain technology. Examples include Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin.
Currency
A system of money used in a particular country or region. In gaming, it can also refer to virtual currencies used within a game to purchase items, upgrades, or other in-game content.
